WMZQ Fest

Following tradition, me, my mom-in-law, and one of her friends, April went to the WMZQ fest. What is that? Well, I'll tell you. A local country radio station, WMZQ 98.7, puts on an all day country "festival" with severel country artist--both new and some that have been around for a while.

The radio station gives their listeners a chance to "meet and greet" their favorite artist. Starting in the morning people line up to get a ticket for one of the artists and then later in the day, in designated areas, people have a chance to get a picture with the singer, as well as an autograph. This year we were too tired to wake up early and wait in line, so we skipped it. But we did arrive to catch some pictures of others getting autographs and seeing some of the new rising artist perform on a side-stage.

The main show with the headliners: Chris Young (started his career thanks to the TV show Nashville Star), Josh Turner, Terry Clark, and Montgomery Gentry, started at 5:00. That is what we were really there for to see.
