Seeing Double

Another Colton? Noooo...We're just playing infront of the mirror. Which he enjoyed!
"Oh, so cute!" If you look close, you can see his two new teeth.

First Haircut

Before we went to Disneyworld, Colton got his first haircut. Fotunately, we have a hairstylist in the family--Aunt Heather.

"I love my Aunt!"

A couple of new milestones.

The second tooth has broken through!!! Yeah!! I'm so excited. I tried to take a picture, but all Colton does is cover his teeth with his tongue. He must like the feel of them.

Another thing Colton has done is start to babble. Ok, he's been doing this for awhile, but now it seems like he is trying new sounds. The other night he was saying, "ba, ba, ba, ba, ba..." And last night for the first time, he was saying, "da, da, da, da, da, da, da..." Ok, I know he is a long shot from talking. But as first time parents, we're pretty excited. Aaron asked me if that counted as him saying, "Da-da". I told him no. Besides, he's going to say "Ma-ma" first.

Success...Well, Sort Of

We finally got Colton to hold his own bottle. He's been doing it for a few weeks now without help. But now he plays this little game. He'll get trough about half his bottle then he'll start playing with it. He usually gets more on him than the gets in his mouth. But he gets mad when you take the bottle away. Here he is taking a bottle break from his hard days work as a baby.

EWWWW!!!!

Ok, funny story. The other night we came home from a softball to find this on our front porch. The young women, out of the kindness of their hearts, made us cookies. Since we weren't home, they put it on our porch. Well, you can say we have a little bit of a slug and ant problem. There were ants crawling all over the plate and the slug had eaten through the fold of the card.

The next Sunday, I pulled the Young Women leader aside and kindly thanked her for the cookies. I didn't have the heart to tell her they were infested with creepy-crawly things. I just told her that it was a very nice gesture and made us feel special.

It's a Small World

You know that ride with all the phsycho dolls singing the same blasted song over and over again? Yeah, we went on it. Not too many rides you can go on with a 7 month old. Colton seemed to like it...
....We think....

...yeah, he did.

Remembering the day when the world changed

I'd like to thank Emily for her insight on the 9/11 attacks and the recommendation to see the new twin towers movie. It was a reminder of what I was doing that day.

It started out a bad day. I woke up late and had to go to work. When I went out to my work truck, I found that it wouldn't start. I called my best friend, Rebecca, to ask her to come help jump my car. She asked me if I had heard anything that happened. I told her no. She said something about an airplane running into the WTC, but didn't have too many details. After I got the truck started, I contacted my work on the 2-way radio. The dispatcher told me about how terrorists ran into the towers. I remember my whole body going numb.

As I rode around town making my deliveries, it was almost eerie. The look in peoples eyes were so mournful. I was able to listen to the radio during my shift and that is all the DJ's talked about. It was hard to keep a dry eye. I saw signs posted all around town showing their support for the families.

Back then I felt worlds away from NYC and Washington DC, but I felt the pain of those who lost their loved ones. Now I live near DC. This happened in the back yard of my in-laws. They were so close. And although I know there were many people who lost their friends and families, I thank God that none of my husband's family was harmed.

I hope we can all appreciate and remember the great loss of our country. My heart is torn to see the once again division of the members of the United States because of this war on terrorism. Do you remember how united this country was? I wish we could go back to the way it was for that short time. I know that President George Bush has gotten alot of bad feedback for what he is doing now. But, I'm greatful for the support and dedication he gave right after that tragedy.

"We will not waver; We will not tire; We will not falter; We will not fail. Peace and freedom with prevail."
--President George W. Bush September 2001

And to that I add God Bless America!

I love my husband, my child and my family (in Utah and on the East Coast) and thank God each day that they are all with me.

Just Plain Goofy...A Couple More Disney Pics

Is that the real Goofy? Nope, but it kind of looks like him. It's just Daddy. Although Colton may have been a little confused.
Ok. We broke down and bought him the Mickey ears. We even had his name monogramed on them. What's a parent to do?

He was so tired when we took this picture. He didn't quite know what to do.

The Doctor Is In

One of his shots. Couldn't get his other leg while he was sleeping. But you get the idea.
Tuckered out from his appointment.

Today Colton had his 6 month check-up (even though he's 7 mos. We missed it last month because of switching insurances). Here are his stats:

29 inches long
20 lbs. 12 oz.
I think his head was 28 in.(they didn't write it in the book they gave me)

He also had his shots today. Poor baby. He actually did well, but it broke mom's heart to see him crying. But we're both over it.

Helping Mom with her blog

Any questions? Already trying to be little Mr. Indepenant. Has to be helping mom. And if she doesn't let him??? Well, here comes the fits. Yep, already, at 7 months old.

"I have to wait how long until the Tooth Fairy comes?"

"Yes, Colton. The tooth fairy doesn't come until you start loosing your teeth. You're just at the beginning, baby."
As before mentioned, Colton got a tooth at Disneyworld. I know it doesn't look like it, but it is true. Don't believe me? Then hop on a plane and come feel it for yourself!

Breakfast with Pooh

One of the mornings we went and had breakfast
with the characters from the Hundred-Acre Wood.
Of course, mommy was happy, but I think C was
a little unsure of what to think. Here's C with
Piglet

Winnie the Pooh, Winnie the Pooh, chubby little

cubby all stuffed with fluff...

The wonderful thing about tiggers...is I'm the

only one.

We're Back!!!

So, we're back from Disneyworld. What a fun time we had. It was mine (and of course, Colton's) first time. Oh, and by the way, Colton got his frist tooth!!! Yeah! We're so excited. He wasn't even that cranky.

I don't know if you want me to bore you with all the details of the trip, but here it goes. Our first night we stayed at the All-Star Music Resort. The rest of the week we stayed at the Carribean Resort.

I'll tell ya, staying in Disneyworld resort was the way to go. We were just lucky and very grateful that Aaron's grandparents payed for it. THANKS GRANDMA AND GRANDPA! I think the best part was being able to go to the parks after hours. Because of the heat, we would usually go to whatever park was open late in the evening and stayed until it closed--which was usually 12 or 1 AM. The rest of the time we spent eating or lounging around in the pool or the hotel room. For those who are wondering, we did get plenty of pics--even of the little guy.
