Finally, Recent News!

Man oh man. I keep telling myself that I will be so good and keep up with my blog. Yeah, right. Between two kids and trying to run my at home business, oh and try to keep up with housework (you mean, I have to do that too?), I can't seem to find any time. Occasionally, I pop onto my Facebook and MySpace accounts and add little things here and there, but not too often. So, once again, I apologize to my beloved friends, family, and devoted fans for not keeping them up with our lives. I'm hoping for now, maybe I can make a goal to update my blog once a month. I'm crossing my fingers.
Let me try to recap what has been going on the last couple of months. The summer so far, has been pretty uneventful, which isn't always a bad thing. In June, my dad, mom, brother and sister came out here for Logan's baby blessing. We were also blessed with Aaron's dad, step-mom and her mother, Cookie, being able to come up for the occasion. It was so great to see them. Unfortunately, my dad was only able to stay for one day. Yep, you read that right, one day. They flew in on the evening of June 14th. They were delayed a couple of hours. Due to bad weather, they had to fly into Baltimore, stay on the plane, while it was gassing up, and then they finally made it to Dulles. Because my dad was unable to get time off, he could only stay until Sunday and left after the blessing Sunday morning.
Blessing Day!

Mom, Julia, and Rob got to stay for a whole week. It was nice being able to spend time with my family. I miss them tons. We hung around my house and watched movies, went for a drive along Skyline drive and went shopping at the Leesburg Outlet mall. But like most things in life, the week went by way too quickly.

One week after my family left, Aaron's sister moved in with us. It's a tight squeeze--she has to share a room with Colton and Logan is in with us, but we're making due. We are just happy that we are able to help her out. The part I enjoy is having another adult female around. First of all, it's nice to be able to talk to another "grown-up". I'm sure all you mommy's out there can relate. Second of all, she's another girl on my team. I'm a minority (gender wise) in my own home, and so it is nice to have someone else to back me up. Especially when Aaron is giving me a hard time about the things girls do.
July, so far, has really been the uneventful month. The only thing that has happened to throw everything out of wack (or so it seems like it has) was that our computer was nice enough to allow a virus to visit and stay (she says sarcastically). We had to take our computer to Circuit City to have them totally wipe the hard drive clean and get rid of the virus. Luckily, they were able to back up our hard drive and nothing was lost. Yeah!! I know we are very lucky that they were able to do that. We've had our computer crash before and have lost some info/pictures that we failed to back up. Anyways, after about a week, we got our computer back. Now I've just been starting the gruelling task of trying to re-load all of our programs back on. Yuck!
Now I guess, I should talk about the kids individually (because I know that's who you really want to know about--nudge, nudge, wink, wink, grandparents).
Colton, what can I say about him? He is definitely two years old. Two and a half to be exact. He goes around dancing and singing and mimicking what people say. Some days I swear that I have a parrot, rather than a little boy. His latest thing is to fake burb after someone else (usually his daddy does), usually to the disgust of our near by family members. I get after Aaron to say "excuse me" and then Colt follows suit and says "'cuse me". We haven't really tried the potty training thing yet, but he has gone in the potty a couple of times before his bath, which we are VERY happy about. Colton absolutely loves his little brother. For the most part, he doesn't pay too much attention to him--usually because he is too busy playing with his cars, but throughout the day he will give LJ a kiss on the head, foot, leg, or arm. Every time we tell Colton that we love him, he automatically gives us a kiss. Aaron taught him to say "I love you", and it usually comes out "I wa ou!"

Logan is three and a half months old. He just keeps on getting bigger and bigger. He's fussier than Colton was, so we are just trying to adjust to that. He's starting to coo, smile and giggle. He even tries to sit up when he's in his bouncer or car seat. My favorite thing to do with him, is tickle him when I'm changing him. His giggle could melt the heart of the coldest person. He's also starting to try to roll over--I think. He grabs his toes and rocks a little from side to side. That's a start, right?

Just chillin' in the car

"Oh, pretty please?"

Not much else is new with Aaron and me. Aaron is still working at Jiffy Lube. He's started a project with his grandpa and cousins. They are buying a couple of "needs work" jeeps to fix up for twins, Josh and Austin. It will take a good while to finish these project cars, but I know that Aaron is going to enjoy getting dirty and spending time with the boys and his grandpa.
As for me, I'm just plugging away at being a mom and trying to run my business. After taking a long break from my business, I'm trying to get it up and going again. It's going pretty well. My biggest challenge is trying to find someone to host a party. With these summer months, many people are away on vacations.

Well, that's it for us. Hopefully you feel like you've been substantially updated with our family. As I mentioned before, I'm hoping that I can update at least once a month.
